This course consists of didactic presentations and small group workshops to keep pediatricians, family practitioners and other child health clinicians up to date on a number of clinical practice recommendations relevant topics to pediatric primary care. Some of the topics to be covered include: COVID19; childhood obesity; concussions; asthma; depression and suicide; gender affirming care for transgender youth; behavioral health problems, immunizations, menstrual disorders more.

LATE FEE AND REFUND POLICY
A $50 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on October 21, 2022. A handling fee of $50 will be deducted for cancellation. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by October 21, 2022. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible.

Objectives
  1. Discuss the latest immunization recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  2. Recognize the indications for referring a child with a heart murmur to a pediatric cardiologist.
  3. Discuss the latest practice guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  4. Identify age appropriate screening tools for assessing patients for depression and suicide risk.
  5. Discuss strategies for discussing gender identity and approaches for providing gender-affirming care.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Maryland Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
