Overview

This course consists of didactic presentations and small group workshops to address recent changes in clinical practice and new immunization recommendations and to provide updates on a number of management issues and relevant topics to keep pediatricians, family practitioners and other health care providers, up to date on cutting-edge advances in the field of child health.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This activity is intended for pediatricians, family practitioners, nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in providing primary care for infants, children and adolescents.


Objectives
  1. Discuss the latest immunization guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  2. Recognize the indications for ordering a sleep study.
  3. Discuss the latest practice guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  4. Identify the appropriate use of antibiotics in the management of common infections.
  5. Discuss which sports injuries can be managed in a primary care office and which need to be referred.

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Program accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

This program is pending approval by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) for 12.75 NAPNAP contact hours, of which 2.25 are pharmacology (Rx) content.

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) PAs may claim a maximum of 12.75 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
