Overview
Changes in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery are occurring at a rapid pace, including advances in transoral robotic surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, diagnosis and treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, and the assessment and treatment of hearing loss. The goal of this course is to provide health care practitioners with a comprehensive update on current practices in all fields of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Who Should Attend
This course is designed for practicing otolaryngologists – head and neck surgeons, nurses, speech-language pathologists and audiologists. Some course lectures will also be intended for facial plastic surgeons, endocrine surgeons, neurosurgeons, and pediatricians.

LATE FEE AND REFUND POLICY
A $50 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on February 3, 2019. A handling fee of $50 will be deducted for cancellation. An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by February 3, 2019. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible.


Objectives
After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:

  1. Review updated guidelines in the evaluation and management of pediatric otolaryngology disorders, adult neck masses, and thyroid disease
  2. Assess new technologies and emerging state-of-the-art procedures for the treatment of laryngeal leukoplakia, Eustachian tube dysfunction, transoral thyroidectomy, and facial reanimation
  3. Apply evidence-based best practices to specific otolaryngology situations such as rhinitis, olfactory loss, nasal polyps, facial nerve monitoring, tonsillectomy, oral cavity lesions, and Meniere's disease

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
