DESCRIPTION
This CME activity on DVD is based on lectures presented at the Johns Hopkins Current Topics in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology, held October 17-18, 2015. This DVD series is intended as a practical overview for pathologists who encounter gastrointestinal and liver specimens in daily practice and will take 11.75 hours to complete (including taking the post-test and completing the evaluation). Interpretation of biopsies of the upper GI tract mucosa and the liver is addressed, as well as recent advances in pancreatic and biliary pathology. Viewers should come away with a better understanding of interpretation of mucosal biopsies, liver biopsies, pancreatic/biliary disorders, current concepts in staging, and the application of modern techniques to gastrointestinal disorders.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This enduring material is intended for Community pathologists, Gastrointestinal specialists, Hepatologists, GI and Hepatology fellows and residents.

  5. Summarize histologic features of selected pediatric gastrointestinal diseases.
  6. Discuss advances in genomic medicine as it relates to gastrointestinal malignancies.
  7. Identify common and rare gastric and small bowel neoplasms.
  8. Discuss an approach to problematic pancreatic pathology cases.
  9. Explain histologic and immunohistochemical features of selected lymphoproliferative disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
  10. Identify common and rare cases.
  11. Summarize the main causes and histologic appearances of non-IBD colitis.
  12. Discuss an approach to handling Helicobacter-negative gastritis.
  13. Summarize histologic patterns of injury associated with drug-induced liver injury.
