The 49th Annual Florida Suncoast Pediatric Conference will provide valuable updates on current trends in pediatric medicine and its specialties. Designed especially for primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, and others who care for children, this exciting four day conference will provide insights on how to address common pediatric medical problems in your practice. Objectives
  1. Describe and apply an interprofessional, evidence based approach to the identification, assessment, and management of adolescent eating disorders, incorporating the complementary roles of physicians, psychologists, registered dietitians, and licensed clinical social workers to optimize medical stabilization, nutritioanl rehabilitation, psychological treatment, and family centered support.
  2. Explain the key features of increased intracranial pressure and identify critical examination findings of concern for pediatric neurosurgical patients.
  3. Evaluate current and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and recognize associated ethical, legal, and patient safety considerations.
  4. Apply evidence based communication strategies to effectively address vaccine concerns, build trust, and support informed decision making with patients and families.
  5. Identify and apply recent pediatric coding and documentation updates to common clinical scenarios, improving accuracy, compliance, and reimbursement while reducing audit risk.
  6. Apply evidence based screening tools and assessment strategies to evaluate sleep disorders in children and adolescents.
  7. Identify best practices for autism screening and apply evidence based strategies for timely diagnosis, referral, and ongoing management to support optimal patient and family outcomes.
  8. Apply evidence based cardiac screening guidelines for high school athletes, recognize risk factors and warning signs for sudden cardiac events, and determine appropriate clearance, referral, and followup.
  9. Apply evidence based guidelines for shortened courses of antibiotic therapy, optimizing treatment effectiveness while reducing adverse effects, antimicrobial resistance, and unnecessary antibiotic exposure.
