Overview
This Current Concepts course offers a comprehensive review of the latest advances in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of common eye diseases. Led by experts across ophthalmology, the course highlights recent clinical trial evidence and peerreviewed developments that are shaping care in areas such as cataract surgery, corneal disease, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions. Participants will explore innovations in IOL technology, femtosecond laser surgery, keratoplasty, collagen crosslinking, minimally invasive glaucoma procedures, and evolving retinal therapies, alongside advances in imaging technologies like optical coherence tomography. The program also addresses practical clinical applications, including demonstrations of new surgical techniques, updates on medical therapies, practice management considerations, and legislative developments, providing attendees with a current, evidence based roadmap for optimizing patient care.

Objectives
  1. Integrate prescribed medical and surgical treatment options into everyday practice, including uveitis, oculoplastic and ocular oncology.
  2. Assess the perioperative use of antibiotic and antiinflammatory agents in patients undergoing eye surgery.
  3. Formulate current and advanced medical and surgical treatment strategies as well as imaging with corresponding ocular conditions, including: glaucoma, retina, anterior segment including "dry eye", uveitis, refractive surgery and laser assisted cataract and corneal transplant surgery.
  4. Discuss new medical techniques, therapies and relevant clinical trials in dry eye, refractive surgery, cornea, glaucoma, and retina, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion.
  5. Assess how emerging technologies such as AI and remote care platforms may reshape ophthalmic education, clinical workflows, and patient access.
  6. Describe unique considerations for cataract surgery in patients with comorbid glaucoma.
