Overview
This three-day workshop provides an overview of the basic principles of Visual Thinking Strategies - VTS and daily opportunities to practice facilitating VTS in DC art museums and to receive feedback from certified coaches in VTS. This course is designed for faculty who are responsible for clinical care and-or for teaching any level of health professions learners and who desire to learn to facilitate open ended discussions with their patients and learners using an evidence-based visual arts-based pedagogical method. Completion of this course is the prerequisite for enrolling in the Advanced Principles & Practice course that provides additional training, practice, and coaching in VTS.

Objectives
  1. Describe all components of Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) facilitation.
  2. Apply the components of Visual Thinking Strategies in facilitation practice sessions
  3. Formulate plans for implementing Visual Thinking Strategies into a clinical or educational setting relevant to the needs of patients or learners and institution and add to your own professional career.
