The Practicum in Health Professions Education (HPE) Research is an educational program where participants learn and apply fundamental research principles to a project related to the education or professional development of health care providers. Faculty with HPE research projects at all stages, from study conceptualization to manuscript preparation are eligible. During the practicum, participants can receive up to 24 hours of CME credit as they work with the program's faculty and advance their project over a 12 month period.

1. Identify areas for ongoing professional development in HPE research.
2. Describe general principles related to addressing ethical concerns relevant to their project.
3. Explain HPE research study design and data collection methods.
4. Recognize the specific qualitative and/or quantitative data analytic methods as it applies to their project.
5. Effectively communicate their HPE research findings' either in oral or written form.
