Overview
The Ambulatory Management Program is a training program for practice management teams, specifically physician directors, nurse managers and clinic managers. This years’ cohort will be the 12th of the program that started in January 2014. The purpose of this program is to bring together expertise from schools that focus on healthcare management to share their knowledge and training practice management leaders in the use of lean processes to improve productivity, efficiency and work environment.

Objectives
  1. Define the roles and responsibilities of each member of the clinical management team: Physician Director, Nursing Manager, Clinic Manager.
  2. Describe lean philosophies and how they apply to the healthcare environment.
  3. Define goals and program requirements for the Armstrong Institute Ambulatory National Leader Quality Strategy.
  4. Outline methodologies regarding staffing management, clinic scheduling, and operational metrics.
  5. Explain how to create an organizational culture that values and supports diversity.
  6. Summarize aspects of finance that impact your clinic operations, including the revenue cycle and budget process.
  7. Apply Human Resources best practices surrounding performance reviews and employee engagement.
  8. Discuss the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to practice management.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 37.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
