Overview
The Third Annual Retina Festival is an “all-star” line-up of more than 50 faculty members from around the world participating in a Continuing Medical Education event from the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The program will provide the latest updates from clinical trials and other evidence in the peer-reviewed medical literature that are relevant to the prevention and management of retinal diseases around the world. Topics include the latest, clinically relevant outcomes from clinical trials on age-related macular degeneration, vitreomacular interface abnormalities, hereditary retinal degenerations, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, and the latest in retinal surgery, including live retina surgery demonstrations. In addition to presentations from world experts, 4 panels of experts throughout the day will highlight discussions on applying clinical trial results to day-to-day clinical practice. The course should be of interest to comprehensive ophthalmologists, retina specialists both expert and in training, as well as vision scientists who want an update on the latest clinically relevant topics in retina.

This activity is intended for ophthalmologists, optometrists, and ophthalmic allied health professionals.

LATE FEE AND REFUND POLICY
For in-person attendee registrations, a $50 late fee applies; for virtual attendees, a $25 late fee applies, to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on November 27, 2022. A handling fee of $50 (in-person) and $25 (virtual) will be deducted for cancellation. An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by November 27, 2022. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible.

Objectives
  1. Recognize the role of anti-angiogenic treatments for eyes with choroidal neovascularization from age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy, including proliferative diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.
  2. Evaluate recent clinical studies evaluating treatments for hereditary retinal degenerations.
  3. Discuss the role of imaging in the management of vitreomacular interface abnormalities.
  4. Review the current and emerging therapeutic approaches for surgical retinal diseases.
  5. Summarize the evidence of surgical and medical treatments for intraocular tumors.
  6. Determine which patients are appropriate for biologic treatments of posterior uveitis.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

HOW TO OBTAIN CREDIT
Post activity, an online evaluation will be available to attendees to evaluate the activity and individual presentations and to identify future educational needs. Upon completion of the evaluation, the learner must attest to the number of hours in attendance. Credits earned will be added to the learner’s transcript and immediately available for print. The last day to access the evaluation and attest to your credits is January 17, 2023. An outcome survey will be sent to all physician attendees within two months post activity to assist us in determining what impact this activity had on the learner’s practice.
