The “Viva la Vida” course has reached its 21th anniversary presented by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, with the overarching goal of updating important topics in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy. This year the meeting will take place in Cancun, Mexico. In addition, we have invited the two most prestigious Gastroenterology and Endoscopy societies of Mexico, the Mexican Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Mexican Association of Gastroenterology, to co-organize our Viva la Vida course. Join us and enjoy the program we have designed for you: 60 sessions on topics in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Hepatology given by 45 professors from the United States of America, Mexico and Latin America.


Objectives
  1. Describe recent advances in inflammatory bowel disease including the diagnosis and management of perianal disease, biologics and surveillance of dysplasia.
  2. Discuss new indications for liver transplant as well as management of liver masses, autoimmune hepatitis, NAFLD, and liver involvement in Covid-19
  3. Discuss advances in endoscopy including management of the complex polyp, lumen opposing metal stents, submucosal resection, and POEM.
  4. Describe treatment and diagnostic options for patients with general GI disorders including celiac disease, obscure GI bleeding, and narcotic bowel.
  5. Discuss the diagnosis and management of chronic abdominal pain, novel approaches to severe acute pancreatitis, and management of walled off necrosis.
  6. Discuss and describe current topics in motility disorders such as gastroparesis, achalasia, and the use of Endoflip.
