Overview
Dry Eye drastically affects patient quality of life, with negative effects in patient's productivity at work, leisure activities, social life, ability to read and safely drive, and overall visual function, yet it remains vastly under-recognized, misdiagnosed and undertreated. Dry Eye is now proposed as a common pathway to many ocular surface disorders, yet the variability of presenting symptoms, along with confusion in management strategies, poses a significant challenge to eye care professionals who encounter these patients on a regular basis. Additionally, as new diagnostic and treatment options become available, ECP's need to understand the indications for those newer treatments, differential mechanisms of action, and ultimately efficacy of each treatment modality. This activity is a comprehensive educational initiative for ECPs whom manage and diagnose patients with dry eye. This dynamic learning experience will merge patient scenerios with evidence-based clinical concepts and audience interaction to provide memorable, relevant, and retainable educational encounters.
