Overview
Pre- Recorded Lectures with Live Zoom Q&A Session

This 20th annual conference is intended as a practical overview for pathologists who encounter gastrointestinal and liver specimens in daily practice. Interpretation of biopsies of the upper GI tract mucosa and the liver will be addressed, as well as recent advances in pancreatic and biliary pathology. Case presentations will be featured to emphasize presented concepts. Participants should come away with a better understanding of interpretation of mucosal biopsies, liver biopsies, pancreatic/biliary disorders and the application of modern techniques to gastrointestinal disorders.

Objectives

  2. Update registrants in controversial areas of IBD pathology, including the SCENIC proposal for dysplasia, CMV infection, and pouchitis.
  3. Review the difficulties in assessing the depth of invasion and margins in endoscopic mucosal resection specimens for Barrett neoplasia
  4. Help to establish a consistent approach to the diagnosis of GI lymphomas using the 2017 WHO criteria
  5. Recognize the clinical utility of genomic tumor testing
  6. Characterize the process of EUS-guided FNA/FNB of the pancreas and how it impacts available diagnostic material.
  7. Describe biomarkers used by oncologists to inform them on patient management
  8. Recognize how to utilize liver biopsy in the evaluation of fatty liver disease
