Overview

Retina Festival 2020 is an “all-star” line-up of more than 50 faculty members from around the world participating in a continuing medical education event from the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. The program will provide the latest updates from clinical trials and other evidence in the peer-reviewed medical literature that are relevant to the prevention and management of retinal diseases around the world. 


WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course should be of interest to comprehensive ophthalmologists, retina specialists, both expert and in training, as well as vision scientists who want an update on the latest clinically relevant topics in retina.

Registration is available for Zoom Live Stream Only.

Johns Hopkins University has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 epidemic and has canceled all “face to face” activities per university policy.

Late Fee and Refund Policy
A $25 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on April 25, 2020. A handling fee of $25 will be deducted for cancellation. An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by April 25, 2020. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible.



Objectives
  1. Recognize the role of anti-angiogenic treatments for eyes with choroidal neovascularization from age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy, including proliferative diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.
  2. Evaluate recent clinical studies evaluating treatments for hereditary retinal degenerations.
  3. Discuss the role of imaging in the management of vitreomacular interface abnormalities.
  4. Review the current and emerging therapeutic approaches for surgical retinal diseases.
  5. Summarize the evidence of surgical and medical treatments for intraocular tumors.
  6. Determine which patients are appropriate for biologic treatments of posterior uveitis.
