This course provides updates to thyroid and parathyroid surgical disease, including diagnosis, treatment and surgical management options for patients who have benign and malignant pathologies of the endocrine head and neck. This is a virtual didactic course that provides a comprehensive overview of treatment strategies for different disease processes taught by a multidisciplinary group of physicians at Johns Hopkins Medicine. The recommendations will be based upon contemporary and up to date guidelines published within the past decade.

1. Summarize work up and treatment options for hyperparathyroidism.
2. Identify when to deescalate thyroid cancer care for low risk thyroid cancer.
3. Evaluate the neoadjuvant treatment options for aggressive thyroid cancer.
4. Describe different surgical approaches and decision making.
5. Discuss candidacy for ablative treatments for appropriate patients with benign thyroid disease.

The Johns Hopkins University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any activity due to unforeseen circumstances.  In this event, the University will refund the registration fee but is not responsible for travel expenses.  Additionally, we reserve the right to change the venue to a comparable venue.  Under such circumstances registrants will be notified as soon as possible.

LATE FEE AND REFUND POLICY

A $25 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on November 7, 2026. A handling fee of $25 will be deducted for cancellation.  An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities.  Refund requests must be received by email by November 7, 2026. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible. 

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT
