This 26th annual conference is intended as a practical overview for pathologists who encounter gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatobiliary specimens in daily practice. Interpretation of biopsy and resection specimens will be addressed, as well as recent advances in ancillary testing and molecular diagnostics. Case presentations will be featured to apply presented concepts. Participants should come away with a better understanding of the diagnostic approach to nonneoplastic and neoplastic specimens and the application of modern molecular techniques.

1. Recognize the histologic features of each of the common patterns of medical liver disease, and the differential diagnostic considerations for each pattern.
2. Discuss the evolving role of liver biopsy in the management of patients with steatotic liver diseases.
3. Assess the utility of routine, special and immunohistochemical stains in constructing a final diagnosis for a liver mass directed biopsy.
4. Discuss how to diagnose Barrett esophagus and assess for dysplasia.
5. Recognize key gastric carcinoma precursors.
6. Recognize and classify the morphologic spectrum of inflammatory bowel disease associated dysplasia, including conventional and nonconventional patterns.
7. Identify the genomic biomarkers for targeted colon cancer therapies.
8. Implement targeted formatting and plain language strategies in gastrointestinal and liver pathology reporting.
9. Recognize the major histologic patterns of drug induced injury in the gastrointestinal tract.
10. Differentiate between low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN), high grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (HAMN), and mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix.
11. Name the most common reporting system for anal cytology specimens.
12. Review the classification and grading framework for neuroendocrine neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract.
13. List the major neoplasms in the differential diagnosis for solid cellular neoplasms of the pancreas.
14. Apply the updated WHO 6th edition classification and terminology for lesions of the extrahepatic biliary tract and gallbladder in routine practice.
