Overview
Schwartz Rounds provides a structured forum where staff, clinical and non-clinical, come together to discuss the emotional and social aspects of working in healthcare. The goal is to help healthcare workers cope with the stress of providing compassionate care and the associated emotional drain that may occur. Though-provoking topics related to the human dimeson of medicine are introduced, and caregivers are able to experience, learn, and share strategies to enhance teamwork, communication, well-being and caregiving.

Objectives
  1. Employ a multidisciplinary, cooperative, and iterative approach to the exchange of medical education across the breadth of Johns Hopkins Medicine and affiliate practitioners and educators.
  2. Improve the safety and quality of patient care by analyzing systems-based, practice-based processes.
  3. Translate recent research, new techniques, guidelines, etc. to clinical practice, based on the methodological ability of their design, validity , and applicability to patient care.
  4. Forster communication among healthcare stakeholders by exploring and integrating patient-centered, team-based strategies, when appropriate.
  5. Compare and contrast patient outcomes of past cases with current ones to inform treatment strategies.
