Overview

The advancements in treatment options for thyroid and parathyroid disease has resulted in removing less and preserving more.This course will provide up-to-date information regarding treatment options including transoral thyroidectomy and adiofrequency ablation of benign thyroid nodules for patients with thyroid and parathyroid disease. The course is focused around these novel treatment modalities in an effort to provide knowledge and hands on teaching for safe delivery of state-of-the-art care for patients.

Objectives

Evaluate advances in remote access approaches to the thyroid.
Discuss the indications and contraindications of remote access thyroid surgery.
Explain the evaluation and preoperative workup necessary prior to remote access thyroidectomy.
Outline and demonstrate remote access and interventional techniques available for the treatment of thyroid diseases.
