Overview
Stroke remains a leading cause of adult disability. There is accumulating evidence from both animal models and human trials about approaches to influencing brain repair after this devastating disease. Post-stroke management is a dynamic and multilayered process with unique features across the continuum of patient care. Assuring high fidelity implementation of proven strategies, while identifying new therapeutic opportunities, and accelerating knowledge sharing about emerging concepts is critical to impact this devastating disease both at an individual and population level. Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Stroke Center is on a mission to improving recovery after stroke. The aim of this conference is to bring together leading scientists, researchers, and interdisciplinary clinicians for a rigorous review of the state of the science and discussions about the innovative ways forward. We invite you to join the conversation on May 17 and 18, 2022 as we share the latest cutting-edge research being developed at Johns Hopkins and the Sheikh Khalifa Stroke Institute.

Objectives
  1. Describe concepts in brain repair.
  2. Identify strategies that can accelerate or impede brain recovery in the acute, subacute, and chronic, post-stroke period.
  3. Discuss strategies useful for behavioral recovery.
