Overview
This is a 5-day course. The “state of the science” of HIV/AIDS and its biology, epidemiology, impact, and treatment management will be presented by globally renowned experts in the field. The impact of COVID on HIV will also be discussed.

Objectives
  1. Identify the medications used as pre-exposure prophylaxis.
  2. Detail the U = U movement and the science behind this approach from a patient perspective.
  3. Describe the current clinical practice for the treatment of a patient newly diagnosed with HIV.
  4. Review COVID-19 treatment and prevention strategies in people with HIV
  5. Discuss the medical aspects of caring for patients in the transgender and gender diverse community.
  6. Describe how nursing science is contributing to Ending the HIV Epidemic in US and abroad.
