Overview
The 3rd Annual Pediatric Brain Symposium is intended for a broad range of providers who work within bounds of brain health sciences. Featuring professionals in various fields of the neurosciences, this conference will address issues in pediatric brain health with a focus on epilepsy, wellness and neuroscience nursing education.

Objectives
  1. Describe the mental health needs of health care providers before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Identify sources of stress among youth and families during the COVID pandemic.
  3. Define emotion regulation and emotional dysregulation and learn how to use mindfulness based strategies for managing emotions.
  4. Identify strategies to assist providers and families through the process of grieving.
  5. Describe acute and chronic effects following a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury.
  6. Explain the best methods to provide patient/family education for ventricular shunt patients.
  7. Discuss methods and reasons for neurologic assessment in the comatose patient.
  8. Identify the risks associated with anesthesia in the neuroscience patient.
