Overview
The Ambulatory Management Program is a training program for practice management teams, specifically physician directors,nurse managers and clinic managers. This years’ cohort will be the eighth of the program that started in January 2014. The purpose of this program is to bring together expertise from schools that focus on healthcare management to share their knowledge and training practice management leaders in the use of lean processes to improve productivity, efficiency and work environment.

Objectives
  1. Define the roles and responsibilities of each member of the clinical management team: Physician Director, Nursing Manager, Clinic Manager.
  2. Describe lean philosophies and how they apply to the healthcare environment.
  3. Define goals and program requirements for the Armstrong Institute Ambulatory national Leader Quality Strategy.
  4. Outline methodologies regarding staffing management, clnic scheduling, and operational metrics
  5. Explain how to create an organizational culture that values and supports diversity.
  6. Summarize aspects of finance that impact your clinic operations, including the revenue cycle and budget process.
  7. Apply Human Resources best practices surrounding performance reviews and employee engagment.
  8. Discuss the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to practice management.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

 The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

MOC STATEMENT

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation
component, enables the participant to earn up to 45 MOC points in the American Board of
Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. The provider must include a comprehensive evaluation component that measures learners’ change. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for the 
purpose of granting MOC.
