Overview
In the United States, the incidence of skin cancer is greater than that of all other cancers combined. Early diagnosis of melanoma and other aggressive skin cancers can be lifesaving. Skin cancer is a substantial public health concern and is being increasingly diagnosed and managed by primary care physicians. This activity aims to update physicians with new information on diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. This activity will consist of a buffet dinner followed by a series of brief lectures and case presentations.

Late Fee and Refund Policy
A $10 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. ET on May 10, 2019. A handling fee of $10 will be deducted for cancellation. An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by May 10, 2019. No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible.

Objectives
  1. Identify challenges in interpreting melanoma pathology.
  2. Recognize controversies regarding the surgery of melanoma patients.
  3. Discuss the newly approved therapies for high risk and advanced melanoma.
  4. Discuss how to integrate old and new melanoma therapies.
  5. Identify new therapies in clinical trials for melanoma.
  6. Explain the initial treatment and the use of the gene signature in ocular melanoma.
