WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE

The target audience to complete this program includes any allied health professionals whom will or have prescribed ER/LA opioid analgesics in the past 12 months.


Objectives
  1. Assess patients for treatment with ER/LA opioid analgesics.
  2. Evaluate and initiate opioid therapy.
  3. Use ER/LA opioid analgesics appropriately.
  4. Manage ongoing therapy with ER/LA opioid analgesics.
  5. Perform effective counseling with patients and caregivers about the safe use of ER/LA opioid analgesics, including proper storage and disposal.
  6. Identify general and product-specific drug information concerning ER/LA opioid analgesics.

Accreditation

ACCREDITATION STATEMENTS

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 3 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

PHYSICIANS: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the policies of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine.
