Description
Many advances have been made in diagnostic modalities and treatment options for thyroid and parathyroid disease. Management concepts in these tumors are in constant flux medically and surgically. There is a large amount of information published, including guidelines, on these topics which can make it difficult for the practicing physician to stay current with new developments. This course will provide up-to-date information regarding work-up, diagnostic techniques, clinical recommendations, and treatment options for patients with thyroid and parathyroid disease, which will allow for safe delivery of state-of-the-art care for patients.

  1. Explain the advances in diagnostic tests utilized in management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders.
  2. Discuss the work-up and treatment options, including extent of surgery, in the management of thyroid cancer.
  3. Explain the evaluation, including imaging options, and medical and surgical management of hyperparathyroidism.
  4. Explain the surgical techniques available for the treatment of thyroid and parathyroid diseases.
