Overview
The 8th Annual Pediatric Brain Symposium is intended for a broad range of providers who work within the bounds of brain health sciences. Featuring professionals from various fields of the neurosciences, this conference will address issues in pediatric brain health, with a focus on epilepsy, movement disorders, concussion and behavioral health.

Objectives
  1. Identify and apply evidence based strategies for the recognition, assessment, and management of suicidality in pediatric patients within clinical and community settings.
  2. Differentiate between tic disorders and other movement disorders in children and adolescents and utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and treatment modalities.
  3. Evaluate and manage feeding and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) in pediatric patients, incorporating interdisciplinary approaches and referrals as needed.
  4. Recognize and treat communication disorders in children through collaboration with speech language pathologists and other allied professionals.
  5. Implement multidisciplinary approaches for diagnosing and managing complex neurological disorders, including movement disorders and drug resistant epilepsy, utilizing emerging treatment options, such as dietary therapy, neuromodulation, and surgical interventions.
  6. Interpret recent developments in pediatric neuroimmunology and apply current evidence to clinical practice in the diagnosis and management of related conditions.
  7. Assess current trends in pediatric migraine treatment, including pharmacologic and device based interventions, and apply best practices for individualized care.
