Bio:

 

Dr. Clarimar Borrero-Mejias, MD is a board-certified Pediatric Neurologist. She is a passionate educator and patient advocate, a leader in her field, and a mentor to multiple medical students, residents, and fellows. Her academic and leadership interests are influenced by her vision of eliminating disparities and promoting equity in all areas that intersect with healthcare. Through multifaceted social and professional collaborations, her goal is to continue improving the delivery of excellent care to patients, families, and communities.

 

Dr. Borrero-Mejias is the Program Director of the Child Neurology Residency Program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Her clinical focus includes pediatric headaches, epilepsy, and tic disorders. In leadership, Dr. Borrero-Mejias stands out for being a member of various committees within the Child Neurology Society (CNS), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the American Headache Society (AHS), and she is a member of the Child Neurology Clinical Certification Committee of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). She is also a member of the Board of Managers of All Children’s Community Clinical Integrated Network (ACCN).

 

Dr. Borrero-Mejias earned her medical degree at the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She completed pediatric residency training at the University of Puerto Rico’s Medical Science Center, and she completed pediatric neurology training at the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she practiced for about a decade, before relocating to Florida. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, connecting with friends, and re-fueling her spirit through meditation, worship and prayer.
