Sally Mitchell, M.D.

 

Dr. Mitchell is an interventional radiologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. She joined the hospital staff in 2021.

She was most recently director of pediatric interventional radiology and director of vascular anomalies interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore; medical director of the Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Center and of the Vascular Anomalies Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital; and professor emeritus in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Science, Surgery and Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was elected to the Miller Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Mitchell has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, authored book chapters and lectured both nationally and internationally.

Her particular clinical interests are management and treatment of children with renovascular hypertension, varicoceles, vascular anomalies, portal hypertension and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). Her research interests include vascular anomalies and HHT.

Dr. Mitchell earned her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus. She completed an internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and a residency in diagnostic radiology at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in computed tomography, diagnostic ultrasound, angiography and interventional radiology at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
