Dr. Amir Hamrahian has joined Johns Hopkins University as an Associate Professor of Medicine on 9/1/18. He received his medical degree from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, did his internal medicine residency at the University of North Dakota, and completed his Endocrinology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Hamrahian joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2000 and served as the chief of the Department of Endocrinology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2014-2018. He has an interest in adrenal and pituitary disorders. Dr. Hamrahian has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and has served in developing guidelines for adrenal and pituitary disorders. In addition, he has given presentations at national and international conferences and has served as the principal investigator for several clinical research studies.

Accolades received include Teacher of The Year Award and Human Subject Annual Professional Excellent Award at the Cleveland Clinic in 2003 and 2011, respectively, and W. Tabb Moore Endocrinology Mentor of the year award at Johns Hopkins in 2019. He currently serves as the medical director of the adrenal center at Johns Hopkins University.
