Khalil Ghanem, MD, PhD

Khalil Ghanem is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and in the Division of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research focuses on genitourinary infections- in particular syphilis and the vaginal microbiome. He was a consultant to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the development of the 2010, 2015, and 2021 Adult Syphilis Treatment Guidelines. He is president of the American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association (ASTDA).
