Dr. S. Alex Rottgers

 

Dr. S. Alex Rottgers is a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He is also an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Rottgers received his undergraduate degree in biology and philosophy from Rice University in Houston, TX. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, graduating with highest honors. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and performed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rottgers joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2015.

 

Dr. Rottgers's research interests include outcomes studies for surgical procedures in cleft and craniofacial conditions, the use of three dimensional imaging technology for studying facial differences, and virtual surgical planning of surgical procedures.

             

Dr. Rottgers is a resident members of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons. He’s also a member of the Florida Cleft Palate Association. Dr. Rottgers serves as a journal reviewer for PLOS One. He has been received numerous awards for his exceptional performance, including the Paul W. Black Junior Investigator Award at the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and Leighton L Hill Excellence in Pediatrics Award.
