Janelle T. Garcia, Ph.D. serves as the Clinical Integration Manager at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Her specific research interests include pediatric obesity, planning and evaluation of community and school-based pediatric weight management programs, food insecurity, and healthcare weight bias. In addition to working in community research and program planning, Dr. Garcia also acts as one of the Co-chairs to the JHACH Employee Wellness Committee, serves on the Hunger Action Alliance with Feeding Tampa Bay, Baycare Diabetes Collaborative Youth Subcommittee, and Pinellas County School’s Family Life Education Committee in addition to serving as a board member for the Tampa Bay Healthcare Collaborative.


Dr. Garcia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida. She earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Performance and her Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida.
