Saniha Makhzoumi, Ph.D. is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in eating disorders. She provides individual and family therapy for adults and adolescents with eating disorders and conducts pre-surgical psychiatric evaluations for individuals preparing for bariatric surgery. She graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and completed her predoctoral internship at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt before beginning at Johns Hopkins. Throughout graduate training, internship, and fellowships, she has worked with patients with eating disorders in various levels of care, including inpatient, day hospital, and outpatient settings. She has extensive training in CBT, DBT, IPT, and motivational interviewing.
