Kamal Pourmoghadam, MD

 

Dr. Pourmoghadam is a pediatric cardiac surgeon at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with over 25 years of experience. He has performed all forms of complex congenital heart surgeries in all age groups extending from neonates to adults with congenital heart defects. He has a deep interest in improving the quality of life in these young patients who require long-term follow-up and may need numerous reinterventions throughout life.

As a background, he received his bachelor’s degree from University of California at Berkeley, and medical degree from Albany Medical College. After completing his general surgery training in New York, he spent an additional two years of training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital for completing a residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. His congenital cardiac surgical training consisted of an additional year of residency at the University of Washington at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

He is professor of surgery at University Central Florida, and practicing at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital since 2023.
